CAMERON MACKINTOSH'S ACCLAIMED NEW PRODUCTION OF BOUBLIL & SCHÖNBERG'S MISS SAIGON TO PLAY LYRIC THEATRE, STAR CITY

The new Australian production of MISS SAIGON will play a Sydney season at the Lyric Theatre, Star City from September 20.
Produced in Australia by Michael Coppel, Louise Withers and Linda Bewick, Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of MISS SAIGON will thrill Sydney audiences with cutting edge visual techniques and a brilliant new set which vividly recreates the streets of Vietnam and Bangkok.
Producer, Louise Withers said, “We were always intending to play at the Lyric Theatre from September 20 and are delighted to be presenting this new production of MISS SAIGON, which has been embraced by critics and audiences alike. I am also delighted our production of MAMMA MIA! will remain the longest running show at the Lyric Theatre.
An epic tale about the relationship between an American G.I. and a young Vietnamese woman set during the final days of the U.S. occupation of Saigon, MISS SAIGON is one of the most successful musicals in the world - seen-to-date by over 33 million people in over 25 countries, performed in 12 different languages and winning 30 international awards.

Since its London premiere in 1989 MISS SAIGON has become the third most successful musical in the history of British theatre and the longest running show ever to perform at the Drury Lane Theatre.

Cameron Mackintosh, best known for his highly successful productions of CATS, LES MISÉRABLES, and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, has created an entirely new version of MISS SAIGON. When this production opened in the UK, it was immediately hailed as “better than ever” and has since received public and critical acclaim wherever it’s played, regularly breaking box office records and touring extensively in North America and throughout the UK.

An epic story of love and sacrifice, MISS SAIGON resonates as much today as ever. The sweeping score and dramatic story of MISS SAIGON will touch hearts and engage your emotions, and the spectacular staging and performances in this new production will exhilarate Australian audiences.

MISS SAIGON has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jnr and Alain Boublil, adapted from original French lyrics by Alain Boublil.

MISS SAIGON will be officially launched in Sydney on Monday, May 7 with Tickets on sale from Monday, June 18.
